A day in the life of a SQL Database Developer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Database Developer to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in database design and possess the ability to create efficient, scalable, and maintainable database solutions.

Your day-to-day

• Design, develop, and maintain database systems on MS SQL Server to support business applications and ensure their optimal performance
• Analyze technical requirements and ETL strategies (Build and maintain SQL scripts, complex SQL queries for data analysis and data extract)
• Collaborate with software developers
• Perform data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization
• Create and maintain database documentation, including data dictionaries, schemas, and ER diagrams
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to database management and development

What you will need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Excellent understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL programming
• Experience with database design, data modeling, and performance tuning
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Competencies

• Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g. Azure SQL Database)
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g. Analysis Services, Power BI)
