Location: Athens (on-site)

 

On behalf of our client, a global leader for risk management in maritime industry,

we are looking for a Lead data analyst to join their team of IT center and help make sense of data and use it to improve business decisions and new platform in making.

 

 

A day in the life of Lead data analyst

 

As a Lead data analyst in shipping company, you will manage data analysis tasks, analyzing maritime-related data to support decision-making and improve operations. You will oversee the team's work, and collaborate with different departments to drive data-driven decisions.

 

Your day-to-day

  • Lead a team of people that will aggregate data about vessels (ownership, risk points, etc.).
  • Exhibit customer focus through excellence to ensure solutions meet quality and functionality goals that are responsively supported.
  • Provide guidance and advice to ensure that company’s data analysis capability is coordinated and fit-for-purpose.
  • Work closely with teams (data scientists, engineers, and maritime experts) to gather and incorporate feedback.
  • Keep clear records of how vessel data is processed and improved.
  • Conduct thorough quality assurance checks on vessel data and make adjustments as needed to improve data accuracy.
  • Support building business analytics tools and execute on custom data analysis projects.
  • Perform other tasks as needed for the role.

 

What you will need

  • Degree in data science, engineering, math, or something similar (post-graduate qualification is a plus).
  • Experience in developing technical documentation, particular in a structured process focused or technical environment.
  • Experience in the maritime industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of marine technology or related fields (e.g., ocean engineering or marine architecture) is a plus.
  • A broad understanding of Information Technology e.g. cloud, mobile, IoT.
  • Familiarity with software development and project management tools.
  • Solutions-oriented with good initiative and problem-solving ability.
  • Passion for marine technology.
