QA Engineer

On behalf of our client, an award-winning Fintech insurance company with international presence, we are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join their highly empowered team of dynamic and talented professionals. The company is based in Athens but you will have the opportunity to work from anywhere in Greece on a 100% remote basis!

A day in the life of a QA Engineer

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our web portal and backend systems, which encompass Java, Kotlin, APIs, databases, Kafka, and RabbitMQ. As a QA Engineer, you will collaborate closely with engineers and stakeholders to understand business requirements, develop test cases, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and critical business flows
• Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on business requirements and technical specifications
• Execute manual test cases across web portal and backend systems, identifying and documenting defects
• Work closely with the engineering team to ensure timely resolution of identified issues
• Provide feedback on product quality and functionality to inform decision-making processes
• Champion QA processes and best practices within the team, continuously monitoring and suggesting enhancements
• Actively participate in team meetings, providing insights and recommendations to improve product quality and development efficiency
• Proactively identify opportunities to automate repetitive testing tasks and enhance the efficiency of the QA process
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, exploring new tools, frameworks, AI solutions, and options to improve testing capabilities
• Foster a collaborative and innovative environment, encouraging non-QA team members to contribute to testing efforts when necessary

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
• Proven experience as a QA Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices
• Quality Assurance Certifications will be considered a huge plus
• Solid understanding of web technologies and backend systems such as Rest APIs, databases, Kafka, and RabbitMQ
• Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts
• Extensive UI testing, API testing using tools such as Postman and familiarity with SQL scripting
• Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with engineers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is preferred
